Holiday Inn Express - Plymouth, An Ihg Hotel, Plymouth

The hotel in Plymouth had everything we needed, was clean and kept up well, and the rooms were just done over and very nice. I got a good deal through Expedia but never realized the profit these companies make. The staff, especially in the restaurant, was very helpful and courteous, going the extra mile to be very kind. The location was perfect for exploring Plymouth downtown, and it was a short drive to attractions like the Mayflower II and Plymouth Rock. However, it's not in the most salubrious of locations near gas stations and other businesses, which could be a downside until late at night. The dining experience offered good options for breakfast each morning but the menu for other meals seemed to consist of standard American diet fare, and the Hungarian beef stew stood out. The facilities provided were comfortable and convenient for the price.

My stay at the Comfort Inn was mixed. The room was spacious and clean overall, but there were some maintenance issues, like non-functioning outlets and a sticky bathroom door. The decor looked a bit worn with peeling wallpaper and old towels. The bed in my double room was uncomfortably hard, though my dad's king room was more bearable. The hotel's location was convenient for local attractions but seemed a bit outdated and wasn't within walking distance to the town center.

The hotel has nice rooms made a bit better by being on the rear of the building. The family with children made a lot of noise at night, but overall, it was a very nice experience. However, major upgrades are needed.
